With the continuous development of LLMs, if you want to keep pace or get ahead in understanding AI technology and mastering related AI skills, you cannot avoid engaging with English. Therefore, having a good translation plugin can be a great help.
Today, I would like to introduce a translation plugin that I quite like, called Immersive Translation. Let's go through the installation and try out some of its features together.
Step 1: Installation
Open Google Chrome and search for Immersive Translation in the Google Store, then add it directly to Google Chrome.
Step 2: Login
Here, I logged in directly using my Google email. If you don't have one, you can try other methods. After logging in, there will be guidance for operations, and by following the instructions, you can complete the learning and use the immersive translation by clicking the floating ball or the plugin button while browsing foreign websites!
Is that all? Haha, next, I will record how to access free large models through Immersive Translation to make our translations more accurate!
Here we use a platform called siliconflow, official website: https://siliconflow.cn/zh-cn/
I don't know why it's called silicon flow, haha. We will register and log in here; I also used my Google email for quick registration. You need to bind your phone number; if you are in China, just fill in your domestic phone number, and after entering the verification code, you can complete the registration.
Let me explain why we should use siliconflow. This official platform is very friendly and provides specific documentation on how to integrate its large models into Immersive Translation, so just follow its documentation to complete the configuration. Additionally, a very good thing is that the platform offers some free models for us to use, so we no longer need to worry about the costs of models!

Step 3: Obtain API Key
After logging in, you can find the API key in the left menu on the homepage.
Step 4: Create Key
Step 5: Complete Configuration in the Immersive Translation Plugin
Click on the Immersive Translation plugin - Settings - find the bottom option: Add a custom AI translation service compatible with OpenAI interface?
After configuring the custom service, you can click the test verification in the upper right corner, and if the verification passes, it will be saved automatically!
Final Step: Use
First, open the service, then return to the basic settings - select your newly added translation service (the one you named).
Finally, while using, you can try other large models for testing. If you only want to use free models, you need to filter for free models in the model plaza to make your selection.
